Albuquerque 4th of July
The smell of the green chile cheeseburgers being fired on the grill, the sounds of the cracking fireworks coming from homes, and Balloon Fiesta Park, and a hot hot summer day. This describes the 4th of July in Albuquerque. I am excited to share with you all the great activities you can do on the 4th this year! Have fun and stay safe!
The Albuquerque Freedom 4th celebration (Free- 3pm-10pm)
This has to be the most popular activity that takes place every year! It is an all ages event at the balloon fiesta park, featuring food and local brews for sale! This years headline musical guest is Jo Dee Messina who will perform at 8pm, however, there will be live music starting at 4pm. Following Dee Messina is the annual fireworks show (the largest in NM!) at 9:15. Kids activities will include face-painting, bounce houses, and more! This is a must go event if you have not been to it before!
Isotopes Vs. Tacoma ($16 6:30pm)
We are lucky enough to have the ‘Topes in town this year for July 4th! The game will start at 6:35pm, however gates will open at 5pm. In my experience, go early on July 4th so you can get decent parking! It is almost always a sold out game. The game will feature a fireworks show at the end. Get out there and support our local team!
4 Miles on The 4th Road Race ($25 8:00am)
The best race on the 4th of July for runners of all ages! Registration varies by age- under 14 is free, $8 for 14-18, and $25 for all adults. The 4 mile race starts at Mariposa Basin Park at 8:00am. All racers get a free shirt too! If you are a runner this is not an event you want to miss.
